Completely restored studio apartment in old stone house, located near the center of the old town just 100m away Diocletian's palace (1700 years old). Nearest beach is 300m away, famous beach Bacvice which has the blue flag. The apartment has Air-condition, Sat-TV, Wi-Fi internet, spacious kitchen with all appliances, bathroom and all necessary furniture, all brand new. Perfect for 2 persons. Just 5min away from train/bus station, best restaurants, coffee bar's, night bar's, shopping places and vegetable market. SPLIT- is one of the Mediterraneans most compelling cities. It has a unique historical heritage too , having grown out of the PALACE built hereby the Roman Emperor Diocletian. Dioklecians palace was begun in 295 AD and finished ten years later. The palace as whole measured some 200m by 240m with walls 2m thick and almost 25m high, while at each corner there was a fortified keep, and four towers along each of the lend walls. The palace was home to a succession of regional desports after Dioklecians death, although by the sixth century it had fallen into disuse. Best place to start exploring the seaward side of the palace is Split broad and lovely RIVA. The main approach to the palace from the Riva is trough the BRONZE GATE, a functional and anonymous gateway that originally gave access to the sea. Inside is vaulted space which once formed the basement of Dioklecians central hall.
