Perkara yang anda perlu tahu mengenai Karbon Monoksida (CO) semasa melancong
About carbon monoxide
Carbon monoxide is a poisonous gas that can be produced by common household appliances. Carbon monoxide (CO) is an invisible, odorless, colorless gas formed when fuels (such as gasoline, wood, coal, natural gas, propane, oil, and methane) burn incompletely. It can be produced by fuel-burning machines, like cars, furnaces, ranges, water heaters, room heaters, stoves, and dryers; all of which could be located in or near a living space.
Importantly, high levels of carbon monoxide can be fatal.
Pack a portable carbon monoxide alarm when traveling
When staying in unfamiliar places, it is always a good idea to be proactive and take precautions. Carbon monoxide alarms aren’t common in many parts of the world. Laws requiring CO alarms can differ by country, state/province and even by city. We suggest packing a carbon monoxide alarm. Most carbon monoxide alarms are small in size and can easily be added to your luggage. Dual-purpose alarms are also available, which can detect the presence of carbon monoxide as well as other gasses like Liquified Petroleum gas (LP), propane, natural gas and/or smoke.
A carbon monoxide alarm is a great way to help alert your traveling party of potential CO exposure, as it triggers an alarm when high-levels of CO are present. If the CO alarm sounds, get to fresh air right away and call local emergency services for help. Do not return into the unit until it has been cleared by first responders.
